Over the last several years, in states where medical marijuana is legal such as Washington, Colorado, and California, you cant drive down the street without seeing at least one medical marijuana dispensary. The legal MMJ dispensary is spreading like wildfire. So much so that people are already starting to refer to it as "The Green Rush." While this term refers to the marijuana itself, the concept of a "Green Rush" can also refer to the massive amounts of money these dispensaries are pulling in. On any given day, even a brand new business can move several thousands of dollars in state legal cannabis. This is not unknown to law makers however. Due to the huge influx of the medical marijuana dispensary, lawmakers and politicians have begun to crack down on what they can and can't do.
In states such as Washington, politicians have begun to impose regulations on where an mmj dispensary can advertise. It will be interesting to see what the future of the medical marijuana dispensary is. Will the huge growth of the industry convince law-makers to make it federally legal and sell it as a taxed item? Will the growth of the mmj dispensary lead to more regulation? Only time will tell but it is the people who are getting into the space right now that will be seeing most of the financial benefits to this so called "Green Rush."
